Caller purporting to be from Lloyds Bank calling about suspicious activity on my credit card. They had my name, email address, postcode and last four digits of my credit card number so clearly there’s been a data breach at some point and this was the second call from this number from the same group of fraudsters! They say they will not ask for any personal information but when I asked how the scam worked, they told me they’d sent a six digit code to prove they were genuine - I received a standard text message from my credit card provider with a code to confirm a €1,180 online transaction. I told them I’d report the attempted fraud and they hung up so I called my credit card provider and asked for this card to be cancelled.
