at 08:11 hrs I got a call from a listed number unknown to me. there was a recorded message with an american accent, claiming to be from hmrc. the message threatened legal action against me shortly and suggested I press 1 to 'speak to an operator'. given the time I thought this was a scam, so I hung up. I have never had hmrc phone me, only letters or emails. beware of calls from this number. according to this search function, the call originated from Glasgow.
