This number unknown to me. When my answer phone reacted the caller rang off, very suspicious.

I don't answer calls from numbers not in my phone memory - I let the answerphone take them. If it's a genuine caller they will leave a message.
When my answerphone kicked in all I heard was a loud tone for a couple of seconds then they hung up.
I should not be getting such calls as I'm on the telephone preference list but somehow these idiots circumvent it!
